  • Board approves renovation project for Fairview South School

    At the Board of Education meeting on August 13, the Board approved the Administration’s recommendation to renovate a portion of Fairview South School in support of the Waukesha County Special Education Cooperative program. This renovation will begin in June 2025 and will be completed before September 1, 2025, in time for the 2025-26 school year.

  • Brookfield East student wins FBLA national championship

    Brookfield East junior Jake Zheng was named the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Champion in Public Speaking.

  • Brookfield Central student gains recognition for stop-motion animated film

    Sam Slowik, a sophomore at Brookfield Central, has been making waves in the world of filmmaking with his stop-motion animated film "Learning to Fly." His film won the Best Overall award at the Elmbrook 3-Minute Film Festival this past winter and recently caught the attention of the Crossings International Film Festival, where it not only became a finalist but also earned him an Honorable Mention and a cash prize. He also received a Gold Ticket from each judge at the Elmbrook 3-Minute Film Festival, an honor each judge only bestows upon one submitted film in the competition.

  • Brookfield Central names new associate principals

    The School District of Elmbrook’s Board of Education confirmed the administration’s recommendation of Bryan Groshek and Chad Whalley as Associate Principals of Brookfield Central High School at its regular board meeting on Monday, July 8.

  • Elmbrook School District offers 30 college credits before graduation

    The Elmbrook School District has introduced "The Elmbrook Promise," a commitment to providing students with the opportunity to earn 30 college credits before graduation. This initiative includes an extensive list of Advanced Placement courses, on-campus dual credit courses, and off-campus options.

    On June 18, the Elmbrook Board of Education approved the administration’s recommendation of Ben Prather as the new Assistant Superintendent for Business Services. This approval completes the restructure of Senior Leadership positions following Assistant Superintendent Kristin Sobocinski’s departure.   • Elmbrook School Board lists Hillside Elementary property for sale

    In June 2023, the Elmbrook Board of Education established a district goal to "Establish a master facility plan for each of our facilities, beginning with Hillside and Fairview South by June 2024."

  • Elmbrook students receive recognition from NCWIT for computing achievements

    Several Elmbrook students have been recognized by the 2024 National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) for their aspirations in computing. Amoolya Mammula (BEHS ‘24), Elena Rickert (BEHS ‘27), and Anushka Vysyaraju (BC ‘24) were among the 77 students selected to win NCWIT Awards in the Wisconsin Affiliate for Aspirations in Computing (WIAiC). Additionally, Sudiksha Pandey (BC ‘24) received an honorable mention from the state, while Vaidehi Ramachandrula (BC ‘26) was one of three students in the state to receive a National Honorable Mention from NCWIT.

  • BC student Aidan Liu named to short track national development team

    Brookfield Central student Aidan Liu, class of 2026, has been named to the 2024-2025 US National Development Team. This recognition is considered the highest honor for a junior speedskater from a developmental perspective by the National Sports Governing Body under the U.S. Olympic Committee. Skaters in this program are positioned closely to join the national team.

  • Brookfield Central Boys Tennis Team wins state championship

    The Brookfield Central (BC) Boys Tennis Team was crowned the 2024 WIAA Division 1 state champions on Saturday, June 8. The Lancers defeated Kenosha Indian Trail 7-0 in the quarterfinals, Kimberly 7-0 in the semifinals, and Marquette 4-3 in the championship. The team finished the season with a record of 26-2.

  • Brookfield Central and East celebrate Class of 2024 graduation

    The Brookfield Central and Brookfield East Classes of 2024 graduated on Sunday, June 9. The 278 graduates from Brookfield Central were led by valedictorian Vedant Shukla, while the 339 graduates from Brookfield East were led by valedictorian Michael Deselnicu.

  • Elmbrook students recognized as Distinguished Young Women for 2025

    Elmbrook students Ashriya Rajesh (Brookfield Central ‘25) and Ceci Cornell (Brookfield East ‘25) have been named to the Distinguished Young Women (DYW) Class of 2025. Rajesh was named Distinguished Young Woman of Brookfield 2025, while Cornell was named Distinguished Young Woman of Elm Grove 2025. Both students were awarded college scholarships for their academic achievements and will be participating for a chance at additional scholarships as part of the Wisconsin State Finals this summer.

  • Family satisfaction survey shows high marks for safety and involvement

    Thank you to the 1,334 respondents who provided feedback to our schools and the District via the annual 2024 Family Satisfaction Survey. This year’s survey was conducted in May, with participation numbers consistent with previous years. Results are analyzed at both the School and District levels, and key findings along with next steps are reported to the Board of Education’s Community and Legislative Committee.

  • Fairview South celebrates Class of 2024 graduation

    On Wednesday, June 5, Fairview South honored its graduating class of 2024. The graduation program reflected on the graduates' journeys, the year at Fairview South, and acknowledged the contributions of teachers, parents, and mentors.

  • Former teacher revisits Brookfield Elementary after receiving alumni award

    Barb Consigny, the recipient of Elmbrook's 2024 Alumni Excellence Award and a member of Brookfield Central's original graduating class of 1958, returned to Brookfield Elementary for a visit. Consigny taught at the school from 1986 to 2004.

  • Elmbrook elementary students compete at national science bee

    Fourteen students from Elmbrook Elementary Schools, ranging from grades 3 to 5, participated in the National Science Bee Competition held in Orlando, Florida. The event, organized by the International Academic Competitions, took place from May 23 to May 26, 2024.

  • Elmbrook students receive top honors at state music festival

    On May 4, the Elmbrook School District participated in the Wisconsin School Music Association’s State Music Festival by sending 135 choir, orchestra, and band events. This festival showcases the most talented musicians in Southeastern Wisconsin.

  • Elmbrook Board approves leadership changes at two elementary schools

    At the regular board meeting on May 21, the Elmbrook Board of Education approved leadership changes at both Brookfield Elementary and Swanson Elementary. At Brookfield Elementary, Principal Erin King will assume the District role of Assistant Director of Student Services. Current Associate Principal Amy Benotch will move into the role of Principal, and Carolyn Schroeder has been named Associate Principal. At Swanson, Lindy DesJarlais has been named the next Associate Principal, following the upcoming departure of Christie Johnson.

    Elmbrook Schools has been named one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation. Elmbrook is one of only 975 districts from across the country to receive this year’s award, which serves as a testament to the exceptional music education opportunities and dedicated staff in its schools.
