The Waukesha County Business Alliance is forming a coalition to advocate for the expansion of Interstate 94 from Highway SS to the Waukesha County line. The initiative follows a recent development in which the project, after being temporarily included in the state budget with support from Senator Bradley and County Executive Farrow, was removed by a gubernatorial veto. As a result, supporters now aim to advance the proposal through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Transportation Projects Commission (TPC) process.

In an effort to demonstrate regional backing, the Alliance is requesting that businesses and organizations sign a letter supporting inclusion of the I-94 expansion in WisDOT’s recommendations to the TPC before the statutory deadline of October 15. The letter will be submitted by September 2.

"Adding your name and organization’s logo demonstrates strong, unified support from the regional business community," according to information released by the Alliance.

To further inform members and gather input, an expanded Infrastructure Policy Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 2 at 8:00 AM at 2717 N Grandview Blvd #300 in Waukesha. The meeting is open to all Alliance members and will feature presentations from officials with Waukesha County Public Works on topics such as traffic trends, crash data, and projected growth. Members of the Waukesha legislative delegation have also been invited.

Those interested in attending or signing onto the letter are asked to contact Will Neitzel.
