Congressman Scott Fitzgerald of Wisconsin has expressed his support following the passage of the House Republican budget bill, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Fitzgerald described the legislation as a significant achievement for working Americans, emphasizing its focus on tax relief and border security.

"This legislation is a victory for working Americans across the nation and delivers on our promise to bring tax relief, reduce government waste, and secure our border," Fitzgerald stated. He highlighted that it includes "the largest tax cut in American history," offering an average increase of $5,000 in annual take-home pay for workers. The bill also aims to make the Trump Tax Cuts permanent and increase the child tax credit. Additionally, it eliminates taxes on tips and overtime pay to allow workers to retain more income.

The act also provides financial relief for seniors by offering deductions on taxes from Social Security benefits. It seeks to protect family farmers by preventing nearly two million farms from being affected by the death tax.

Fitzgerald emphasized efforts within the bill to enhance Medicaid services by addressing waste, fraud, and abuse. "It removes 1.4 million illegal aliens who are fraudulently receiving benefits—ensuring that Medicaid serves those who need it most: the disabled, children, pregnant women, and seniors." The bill introduces work requirements for able-bodied adults of working age to promote self-sufficiency and lift individuals out of poverty. Improvements in federal funding formulas aim to ensure fair treatment for states like Wisconsin regarding Medicaid funding.

Regarding national security measures, Fitzgerald noted that "this bill fully funds the completion of President Trump’s border wall," along with increasing resources for Border Patrol and ICE agents. The legislation supports large-scale deportation operations aimed at removing illegal aliens from communities.

"By passing the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, we're delivering on the promises made to the American people and putting President Trump’s America First agenda where it belongs—front and center," he concluded.
