Law enforcement in Wisconsin is alerting the public about property fraud scams. In response, the Waukesha County Register of Deeds is offering a Recording Notification Service (RNS). This service, also known as "fraud alert," allows individuals to receive email notifications when documents affecting their property in Waukesha County are recorded. Although RNS does not prevent fraudulent activities, it can provide early warnings.

The service applies only to documents recorded after registration for RNS. Information provided through RNS does not constitute an official record and is provided "AS IS." The county disclaims responsibility for the accuracy or validity of information from RNS.

To register for RNS, users must have a Parcel Identification Number (PIN) or Legal Description related to the property. This information can be obtained from Waukesha County's tax listing website or from the property's deed. It's important that entered information matches exactly with the system records for successful registration.
