Rep. Scott Fitzgerald expressed his pride in joining his colleagues to urge the Biden Administration to halt the transportation of undocumented immigrants into the U.S. from other countries, emphasizing the necessity to stop this activity.

"Proud to join my colleagues in sending a letter to the Biden Administration to demand they end the practice of of flying illegal immigrants into the U.S. from foreign locations," said U.S. Rep. Scott Fitzgerald (R-Wi), Representative, according to X. "This practice is beyond dangerous and must be ended."

Fitzgerald's statement was made in response to a report by the New York Post, which detailed House Republicans' call for the Biden administration to cease flights that have allowed over 320,000 migrants to bypass border controls.

According to the New York Post, House Republicans, spearheaded by Rep. Russell Fry (R-SC) and supported by 22 other GOP lawmakers, demanded that the Biden administration immediately terminate a program permitting over 320,000 migrants into the US. This initiative is aimed at curbing illegal border crossings. The demand was outlined in a letter addressed to Troy Miller, acting director of US Customs and Border Protection. The letter referenced a report from the Center for Immigration Studies and called for transparency regarding migrant destinations and government expenses associated with the program.

Fitzgerald was elected in 2020 and currently serves Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to this role, he served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1995 to 2021, holding leadership positions such as Majority Leader and Minority Leader. Fitzgerald has a military background; he served in the US Army Reserve for 27 years and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before retiring. Born in Chicago in 1963, Fitzgerald later moved to Wisconsin where he completed his education at Hustisford High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Before transitioning into politics, Fitzgerald owned and operated a local newspaper and held a position at the Watertown Daily Times.
