CITY OF PEWAUKEE: Notice to Water Utility Customers

Webp water315

City of Pewaukee issued the following announcement on September 23.

The City of Pewaukee Water Utility filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to increase water rates. The increase is necessary due to a 33.65% increase in gross plant investment and a 19.66% increase in operating expenses since the last water rate case completed in 2014.

The authorized rates in the PSCW decision results in an estimated net operating income of approximately $316,058, which provides a 4.9% rate of return on the water utility net investment base of $6,450,165.

An example of a water bill for an average residential home with a 5/8” or 3/4” meter that uses 14,000 gallons of water per quarter will see an increase from $64.82 to $75.88, not including the Public Fire Protection charge.

The new rates become effective on September 21, 2020 (4th Quarter 2020), which includes the billing for October, November and December 2020.
