Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, who represents Wisconsin's 5th congressional district, posted a series of updates on September 29, 2025, regarding federal assistance available to constituents affected by recent flooding in the state.
In his first post, Fitzgerald stated: "Today, I had the opportunity to visit the SBA Business Recovery Center in Waukesha. If you are a WI-05 constituent affected by the floods and need help navigating federal assistance, please contact my Oconomowoc District Office at (262) 784-1111. He continued with another update about FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers: "FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers: For individuals who have uninsured losses or emergency needs related to the August 9-12, 2025, storms and flooding. You can get help applying for federal assistance, speak to representatives from county, state and federal agencies, receive updates" (September 29, 2025).
In a third post on the same day, Fitzgerald provided further details for businesses and nonprofits: "SBA Business Recovery Centers: For businesses, private nonprofits, and residents affected by severe storms and flooding that occurred on August 9-12, 2025. SBA customer service representatives will be on hand to answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the" (September 29, 2025).
The posts follow severe weather events that took place between August 9 and August 12 of this year in Wisconsin. The referenced centers aim to assist individuals with uninsured losses as well as provide support for local businesses and nonprofits impacted by these natural disasters.
Scott Fitzgerald has represented Wisconsin's Fifth Congressional District since winning elections in both 2020—when he defeated Tom Palzewicz—and again in 2022 against Mike Van Someren.
