Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust, has announced investigations into Vision Benefit Managers (VBMs) for potential anticompetitive practices and commented on housing affordability challenges facing families across the country.
On September 15, 2025, Fitzgerald posted: "As Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust, I'm investigating Vision Benefit Managers (VBMs) for potential anticompetitive practices designed to insulate themselves from competition. Addressing another issue on September 16, 2025, Fitzgerald wrote: "Housing affordability is one of the biggest challenges facing families—not just in Wisconsin, but nationwide. Scott Fitzgerald has represented his district since winning the general election against Mike Van Someren in 2022 with 64.4% of the vote. In 2020, he also defeated Tom Palzewicz with 60.1% of the vote.
