On August 10, 2025, Fitzgerald posted about the developing weather emergency: "I am monitoring the flash food warnings in Milwaukee and Waukesha and am ready to help secure resources where needed. Please stay safe."
Following record-setting rainfall that caused significant flooding in several counties, he updated constituents on August 12, 2025: "Yesterday’s record-setting rains caused dangerous flash flooding in Milwaukee, Waukesha and Washington Counties. I have requested an Emergency Declaration to ensure our communities get the resources they need to recover."
In a separate post later that day, Fitzgerald commented on trade policy and inflation rates: "Thanks to @POTUS’ pro-America tariffs and trade deals, price growth in his first six months was 2.5x lower than under Biden. Scott Fitzgerald represents Wisconsin's 5th congressional district. In previous elections, he won against Mike Van Someren in 2022 with approximately 64% of the vote and defeated Tom Palzewicz in 2020 with about 60% support.
