Trash and recycling pickup in the City of Brookfield will continue as scheduled, according to a recent announcement. Residents are advised that bags of flood debris can be included with regular trash collection if they have five containers or fewer. If more than five containers need disposal, the excess should be taken to the Recycling Center or set out for normal collection the following week.

The city is coordinating with GFL for additional flood debris collection and will provide updates when available. Until then, residents are asked to follow existing collection guidelines.

City Highway crews will also conduct extra pickups of debris. Items must be placed at the end of driveways near the street. Pickup by city crews may take up to one week, depending on crew availability and item volume.

Electronics, household hazardous waste, and paint will not be collected by the city.

Residents seeking flooding resources or needing to report home damages are encouraged to call 211.
