Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 5th district, has been active on social media discussing various issues and legislative efforts. His recent tweets cover topics from Puerto Rico's power crisis to law enforcement innovations.

On May 14, 2025, Rep. Fitzgerald addressed the financial mismanagement by the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA). He stated that "The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) has wasted hundreds of millions of dollars enriching consultants and lawyers, while millions of Puerto Ricans suffer under blackouts." He called for the Oversight Board to comply with a federal court order to pay the utility’s creditors.

The following day, May 15, 2025, Fitzgerald shared his engagement with Sheriff Lamb regarding law enforcement tools. He tweeted about their discussion on providing less-than-lethal devices to law enforcement officers and thanked Sheriff Lamb for supporting his legislative effort known as the Law Enforcement Innovate to De-Escalate Act. He expressed his appreciation by stating "Was great to speak with @sherifflamb1 this morning about the work we’re doing to put more less-than lethal devices into the hands of law enforcement."

On May 16, 2025, he directed followers to read a press release via a tweet that simply stated "Read my press release below " accompanied by a link.

Scott Fitzgerald has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Jim Sensenbrenner. Before his congressional role, he was part of the Wisconsin State Senate from 1995 until 2021. Born in Chicago in 1963 and residing in Clyman, Fitzgerald is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.
