Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 5th district since 2021, has been vocal on various issues through his social media presence. Fitzgerald, who succeeded Jim Sensenbrenner and previously served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1995 to 2021, shares his perspectives on judicial conduct, intellectual property protection, and legislative actions.

On May 5, 2025, Rep. Fitzgerald commented on the case involving Judge Dugan. He expressed strong disapproval of her actions and supported the subsequent decisions made by the Wisconsin Supreme Court to relieve her of duties. "What Judge Dugan did is outrageous—and everything that's happened since her arrest, including the WI Supreme Court relieving her of her duties, has been appropriate." He emphasized that judges are expected to maintain composure under all circumstances.

Two days later, on May 7, 2025, Fitzgerald addressed concerns about America's position in artificial intelligence development. He stressed the importance of trade secrets for maintaining competitive advantage against global competitors like China. "Trade secrets are the backbone of America’s AI leadership." According to him, robust intellectual property protection is crucial for sustaining leadership in AI technology.

On May 8, 2025, Fitzgerald announced his affirmative vote on H.R. 276 which seeks to officially rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America following an Executive Order by President Biden. "Today, I voted YES on H.R. 276 to make @POTUS' Executive Order official—renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America." This move aligns with House Republicans' efforts to support what they describe as an "America First agenda."

Scott Fitzgerald was born in Chicago in 1963 and resides in Clyman. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh obtained in 1985.
