Spring hydrant flushing has been announced to occur from April 21 to May 30. This routine process will take place on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The city's aim is to ensure the proper operation of hydrants and check pressure and flow, along with removing sediment to maintain water clarity and quality.
Residents are advised that water discoloration may occur during these flushing periods. In a release, local authorities assured, "This is normal. Your water is safe to drink during and after flushing." They suggest running a cold water tap for a few minutes to clear any discoloration. They also caution against doing laundry during the scheduled flushing times to prevent any potential staining.
