Congressman Scott Fitzgerald of Wisconsin's 5th District released a statement following the approval of the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Resolution. The resolution, which has been passed by House Republicans, aims to address several key issues.
"House Republicans delivered on key promises to the American people by passing this Budget Resolution. We took decisive action towards our goals of extending the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts to support hardworking families, securing the border, and reducing inflation by cutting government spending," said Congressman Fitzgerald. He further stated that the budget "achieves $1.5 trillion in mandatory savings over the next decade, restoring fiscal responsibility while advancing President Trump’s America First agenda."
Congressman Fitzgerald also addressed concerns regarding potential cuts to social programs: "Despite misleading claims, the FY25 Budget Resolution does not cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid." He emphasized his commitment to eliminating wasteful practices and ensuring that benefits are preserved for those who have earned them.
