Scott Fitzgerald, a U.S. Congressman representing Wisconsin's 5th district, shared insights and concerns through a series of tweets. On February 10, 2025, Fitzgerald referenced a letter he had sent with his Judiciary colleagues Jim Jordan and Darrell Issa. The same day, Fitzgerald expressed concerns about new Performance Rights Organizations (PROs) that have been allegedly engaging in deceptive or fraudulent practices. On February 12, 2025, Fitzgerald commented on revelations known as "The Twitter Files," which exposed how the State Department's Global Engagement Center (GEC) purportedly ended up censoring American speech despite its original mission to counter foreign disinformation campaigns.
