Waukesha County Judge Michael Bohren announces April retirement after 25 years

Judge Michael Bohren has announced his decision to retire from the Waukesha County bench, effective April 30, 2025. He communicated this decision through a letter to Governor Tony Evers, where he credited his professional achievements to the dedication and enthusiasm of those around him.

For 25 years, Judge Bohren has been a significant presence in Waukesha County's judicial system. He is held in high regard by both the local bar and the community at large. Throughout his tenure, Judge Bohren has served as a presiding judge and contributed as a committee member and instructor at various judicial conferences. Additionally, he has held the position of Associate Dean at the Wisconsin Judicial College. His experience includes handling numerous high-profile cases that have marked his career.

Beyond his judicial responsibilities, Judge Bohren has also actively participated in community service as a board member for several non-profit organizations dedicated to enhancing life quality in Waukesha County.

"In short, he is the embodiment of a jurist, a gentleman, and a scholar. We will miss him on the Waukesha County Bench but wish him the best as he begins to enjoy his retirement. We thank him for his service to Waukesha County," said Presiding Judge Hon. Ralph M. Ramirez.
