State Representative Adam Neylon of Pewaukee has announced his support for Senate Joint Resolution 2, a legislative measure aimed at amending the Wisconsin Constitution to mandate valid photographic identification for voting.

Neylon stated, "I voted to cement Voter ID in the Wisconsin Constitution because it helps prevent voter fraud. Showing your ID in order to vote is just plain common sense. Furthermore, it strengthens public confidence in the integrity and the legitimacy of our elections."

He further addressed opposition to the measure by saying, "For those who say we don’t need this, the very fact we have to have this debate, and the fact that the vote falls along partisan lines, shows Voter ID needs to be protected, through the use of a Constitutional amendment."

The resolution's passage marks a significant step towards embedding voter ID requirements into state law.
