The City of Pewaukee has announced the successful commissioning of a solar array at City Hall, completed on December 30, 2024. The project began in April 2024 when the city contracted with Current Electric to install solar panels aimed at significantly reducing electric bills for the building.

Located in a field next to City Hall, the ground-based solar panel collection is expected to bring long-term cost savings. Over 30% of the project's cost was offset by financial incentives such as the Investment Tax Credit from the Inflation Reduction Act and the Focus on Energy Business Customer PV Incentive.

The solar installation aligns with Pewaukee's Strategic Plan, particularly addressing key objectives within the Propelling Pewaukee Sustainability Plan. It is projected that this system will recoup its costs in just over ten years while minimizing WE Energy bills to nearly zero.
