Yesterday, Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (R-WI) was appointed as the Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust for the 119th Congress. The announcement was made by Judiciary Committee Chairman, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH).

"I am honored by Chairman Jordan’s decision to name me Chair of the Subcommittee," stated Congressman Fitzgerald. He further expressed his intention to collaborate with "the Trump Administration, Chairman Jordan, and members of the committee to hold Big Tech accountable for censorship, reverse the Biden Administration’s anti-business agenda, and fight the federal bureaucracy."

The Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust has a broad jurisdiction that includes bankruptcy and commercial law, administrative law, antitrust matters among others. Congressman Fitzgerald has been a member of this committee for four years. During his tenure, he has concentrated on ensuring competition laws benefit consumers and preventing foreign state-owned enterprises from distorting markets. Additionally, he has opposed efforts by bureaucrats to incorporate ESG criteria into antitrust enforcement.
