The City of Brookfield has submitted its water service inventory to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as part of a federal requirement aimed at identifying any lead pipes within the city's water system. The city maintains records of installations in public areas but acknowledges limitations regarding private pipes serving homes or those inside residences.

"The City does not believe there are lead water service lines in Brookfield," stated a representative. However, they noted that their records for private pipelines are incomplete. To address this, the city has utilized various resources to determine the materials used in these private pipes.

Residents seeking more information about their water service lines and related programs are encouraged to reach out to the city.
