Brookfield Central Junior Aidan Liu has qualified for the 1st and 2nd Junior World Cups in short track speed skating. He will travel to Italy in November, representing Elmbrook and the United States. This accomplishment is among several recent achievements for Liu, who is part of the Short Track National Development Team and a three-time National Champion in the Junior C Men's Division.

"Making the US Speedskating Short Track Junior World Cup team is a tremendous honor and a monumental milestone in my Speedskating journey. I’m incredibly grateful to my coach, teammates, and parents for their unwavering support,” said Liu. “I would like to extend special thanks to my teachers, counselor, and the staff both in my school and across the district. Their support and flexibility have been essential in allowing me to excel in both skating and my academic pursuits."

Aidan's brother, Aaron Liu, also from Brookfield Central ('23), has qualified for the 2025 FISU World University Winter Games scheduled for January 2025. Aaron recently broke a 15-year record in the Junior A Division’s 1000m event.

The community wishes both Aidan and Aaron success in their upcoming international competitions.
