Fall hydrant flushing will occur on weekdays from September 23 to November 1, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The city conducts this process biannually, in spring and fall, to ensure the proper operation of hydrants and maintain adequate pressure and flow.
The flushing procedure removes sediment from the pipes, which helps maintain water clarity and quality in the distribution system. Residents may notice water discoloration during this period; however, officials assure that the water remains safe to drink throughout the flushing process. In case of discoloration, residents are advised to run their cold water tap for a few minutes until it clears.
To avoid potential staining, residents should refrain from doing laundry during scheduled flushing times.
