Steve Cortes, president of the League of American Workers, said that presidential candidate Kamala Harris is a “wicked person” in response to a video clip showing her laughing while Donald Trump discussed the impact of inflation on the middle class.

“Wow. Kamala laughed when President Trump said inflation is crushing the middle class. She’s a wicked person,” Cortes wrote in a social media post on X.

Attached to Cortes' post was a clip from the presidential debate on Tuesday showing Harris, who seemed to laugh while candidate Donald Trump was talking about the effect of inflation on Americans.

According to The Sconi, Wisconsin families spent an average of $1,001 more on goods and services like transportation, shelter, energy, and food in July 2024 compared to the beginning of the Biden-Harris administration. This comes from data released by the U.S. Senate Joint Economic Committee (JEC).

The analysis shows that, on average, Wisconsin households have spent a cumulative $25,875 more since January 2021 than if economic trends from the Trump administration had continued. In the U.S. Census Bureau's East North Central division, which includes Wisconsin, inflation has risen 20.5% since January 2021, slightly higher than the national rate. Additionally, compared to July 2023, Wisconsin families are now paying $138 more per month to maintain their living standards.

Breaking down the expenses, the average Wisconsin household now spends $287 more per month on transportation, adding up to a total increase of $9,534 since 2021. Shelter costs are up by $207 per month, with a cumulative rise of $4,061. Energy costs have increased by $118 per month, totaling $4,334 in added expenses, and food costs have climbed by $149 per month, bringing an additional $3,903 in spending.

The cost of pasta at local Pick 'N Save grocery stores across Wisconsin has increased by 224% since the Biden-Harris administration took office in 2021, according to a previous report by Waukesha Times.

The Sconi reports that a recent TechnoMetrica poll shows that Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are tied at 47% among likely voters in Wisconsin for the 2024 presidential race, with 3% undecided.
