The majority of students in Waukesha County districts were white in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of the 60,272 students attending Waukesha County district schools, 77.2% were white. Hispanic students were the second largest ethnic group among Waukesha County's districts, making up 9.7% of the student body.

In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Waukesha County districts, representing 77.8% of the student body.

Waukesha School District had the most even distribution of races among county districts, which included 61.3% of white students, 23.8% of Hispanic students, 6.2% of African American students, 5% of multiracial students, 3.3% of Asian students, and 0.1% of Pacific Islander students.

In the 2022-23 school year, the total number of students enrolled in school districts in the county dropped to 1.6% compared to the previous year.
