Alan Skornia, IT Manager 24th Annual John W. Bauer Award Recipient

Award

City of New Berlin issued the following announcement on October 4.

On September 23rd, Council President Ken Harenda surprised city employee, Alan Skornia, with the 24th Annual John W. Bauer Award for Municipal Excellence.  Alan Skornia has served the City of New Berlin for over 8 years.

Alan serves as the City’s IT Manager and has consistently displayed a profound dedication to New Berlin. His expertise and his deep sense of commitment have enabled the City to move forward confidently during these troubling times of security breaches and long overdue structural IT updates.  

 “Alan is always happy to assist staff with a smile, even when he is being pulled in many different directions. His diligent oversight and swift action has kept New Berlin’s infrastructure safe and secure” stated Mayor Dave Ament. “He is an exemplary employee and is most deserving of this coveted award.”

About the JW Bauer Award for Municipal Excellence:  This award was created to carry on the tradition of outstanding customer service as practiced by John W. Bauer, a former City employee of 30 years. City employees are nominated for their outstanding customer service; nominations for the award are submitted from citizens or employees.
