Issued the following announcement on Aug 13.

In response to the recent storms and continued power outages, the City of Brookfield will be providing refuse containers for spoiled food disposal drop off by residents on Saturday August 14th from 9 am – 5 pm at three park locations in the City.  Dedicated food disposal dumpsters will be available during Saturday only at Mitchell Park (near the baseball diamonds at the north end of the park); Wirth Park (rear parking area near the skate park and baseball diamonds); and Krueger Park (Columbia Boulevard south of Bluemound Road).  If a residence had a power outage and your refrigerator was not running for more than 4 hours, health authorities generally recommend that the majority of food items inside be discarded.
