The School District of Waukesha announced on Apr. 17 that it will hold a free “4K Spring Into Summer” event for families on Thursday, April 23 at Hillcrest Elementary, located at 2200 Davidson Rd in Waukesha. The event is scheduled from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and is designed to help families transition from the classroom to community activities as summer approaches.
The evening will offer home learning activities aimed at keeping four-year-old kindergarten (4K) skills sharp, a “bucket list” of local summer ideas for families, information about upcoming community events, and resources for family support and fun during the summer months.
The School District of Waukesha operates as a public education institution and ranks as the seventh-largest school district in Wisconsin, according to the official website. The district supports student mental health through dedicated initiatives and aims to build students’ skills for community involvement, college readiness, and career success according to its official website.
Early learning programs such as this event are part of broader efforts by the district, which also includes offering a STEM campus to support student development as detailed on its website. The School District of Waukesha is governed by a nine-member board of education according to the official site.
Families interested in attending should enter Hillcrest Elementary through Door #2. More information about district programs can be found on the School District of Waukesha’s website.
