On September 11, 2025, the Wisconsin Assembly considered several legislative proposals covering topics such as state employee work requirements, flag displays on government buildings, vehicle sales regulations, tobacco bar exemptions, and the use of taxpayer funds for health care services.

State Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) issued statements regarding these bills following the assembly session. On Assembly Bill 39, which addresses in-person work requirements for state employees, Neylon said: “Working in person fosters collaboration, accountability and trust; essential elements for government employees tasked with serving the public efficiently and transparently. Taxpaying citizens deserve nothing less.”

Regarding Assembly Bill 58 on restricting political or ideological flags over government buildings, Neylon stated: “Government buildings represent all citizens, and displaying political or ideological flags risks undermining the neutrality and unity that public institutions are meant to uphold.”

For Assembly Bill 161, which would prohibit municipalities from banning vehicle sales based on energy source, Neylon commented: “This bill protects consumer choice, ensures a consistent regulatory framework and supports a balanced transition to future transportation technologies.”

Addressing Assembly Bill 211 about exempting tobacco bars from Wisconsin’s public smoking ban, Neylon remarked: “Exempting tobacco bars from Wisconsin’s public smoking ban respects personal freedom and business choice, allowing adults to voluntarily spend time and money in the business of their choice, without impacting smoke-free environments elsewhere.”

On Assembly Bill 308 concerning taxpayer funding for health care services for illegal immigrants, Neylon said: “By prohibiting the use of state or local funds from subsidizing health care services for illegal immigrants, we are ensuring that limited public resources are prioritized for citizens and legal residents, maintaining fairness and fiscal responsibility.”

Neylon was elected as a Republican to represent Wisconsin's 15th House district in 2025. He succeeded Dave Maxey in this role. More information can be found at https://ballotpedia.org/Adam_Neylon.
