GOP lawmakers in Wisconsin are set to introduce a series of bills targeting what they describe as excessive state-level regulations. The initiative focuses on rules issued by the state's executive branch, which have been applied to various areas such as business licensing, environmental protections, and childhood vaccination requirements.
State Representative Adam Neylon, a Republican from Pewaukee and one of the bill authors, stated during a press conference at the state Capitol, "Wisconsin is in need of a regulatory reset." He further commented, "Instead of trying to find compromise with the Legislature, Gov. Evers wants to govern through administrative rule, regulating as much as he can, as fast as he can."
The proposals represent an effort to address what GOP members view as overreach by the executive arm and aim to streamline regulatory processes.
