The Alliance is actively advocating for the business community and Waukesha County in light of recent changes by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA has reclassified Waukesha County, along with other Wisconsin counties, from "moderate" to "serious" nonattainment for ozone. This change is anticipated to significantly affect economic development in the region.

In response to this reclassification, the Alliance is working with regional partners to address the issue. Last week, an initial press release was issued alongside these partners to raise awareness about the situation. The full press release can be accessed under "Coalition Formed to Fight Ozone Reclassification."

The regional partners involved include MMAC, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, The New North, Kenosha Area Business Alliance, Racine County Economic Development Corp., Sheboygan County Economic Development Corp., Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce, and the Commercial Association of REALTORS Wisconsin.

Businesses affected by this reclassification or those interested in supporting these efforts are encouraged to contact Will Neitzel.
