A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village of Mukwonago, Wisconsin on November 7, 2024. The request was made by us at Waukesha Times, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The request was made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., and sought a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. As we continue our commitment to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities.
In our role as a media organization, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. This request is part of our ongoing effort to provide accurate and timely information to the public about important civic activities such as voter registration.
