State Sen. Julian Bradley (R-28-WI) said new data showing Wisconsin's inflation rate outpacing the national average is a "direct result of policy decisions" made by President Joe Biden (D) and Vide President Kamala Harris (D).
"This economic struggle we are all experiencing did not just happen by accident," Bradley told Waukesha Times. "This nightmare is a direct result of the policy decisions made by the Biden-Harris White House."
"The Biden-Harris Administration intentionally flooded the US economy with fake money, printed out of thin air, in a crass and politically-motivated attempt to fool the American public that they were doing something to 'fix' the economy," said Bradley. "As many of us predicted, the Biden-Harris Administration’s economic plan only made life worse for Americans."
As of July 2024, Wisconsin experienced a 20.5% increase in prices of goods and services since January 2021, surpassing the national average of 20.2%, according to the latest data from the United States Congress Joint Economic Committee.
This rate indicates a significant rise in the overall cost of goods and services, resulting in an additional monthly cost of $1,001.
The cost of pasta at Pick 'N Save grocery stores across Wisconsin has increased by 224% since the first day of the Biden-Harris administration, according to a Waukesha Times analysis of Pick 'N Save grocery ads.
A 10-16 oz. box of Creamette pasta at the supermarket chain cost $0.49 in Jan. 2021, which is $1.10 less than the $1.59 cost for a 16 oz. box of the same pasta as of September 4, 2024.
The analysis also found a 172% price increase for pops like Pepsi and 7-up, a 152% increase in the price of canned soups, and a 123% increase in the price of frozen potatoes.
