The Herb Kohl Foundation has announced the recipients of the 2024 Herb Kohl Awards in Elmbrook. Among the recipients are students and staff members from Brookfield Central High School, Brookfield East, and Elmbrook.
Brookfield Central High School seniors Aman Amjad, Surya Arvind, Maggie Feng, Shilpa Kuriakose, and Amelia Stalter, along with Brookfield East seniors Katelyn Kosfeld, Shiv Muthupandiyan, and Kathy Sun, were awarded the Herb Kohl Foundation Excellence Scholarships for their academic leadership.
In addition to the students, educators Nicole Augustin from Brookfield East (Social Studies, LAUNCH Future Teachers) and Jose Galvan from Pilgrim Park (Social Studies) were named Teacher Fellows for their excellence and innovation in the classroom and beyond.
Superintendent Mark Hansen expressed his appreciation for the foundation's contribution, stating, "The Kohl Foundation’s support of students and staff across the state of Wisconsin continues to be an incredible asset for education and educators alike."
The selection committee for the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship Program has recognized a total of 187 graduating seniors who will each receive a $10,000 scholarship from the Foundation.
