Western Technical College issued the following announcement on January 15.
Members of the Snowflake Ski Club spent Saturday preparing the slopes for the 99th Annual Snowflake Ski Club Junior Ski Jump Tournament, January 21 and 22.
As the Friday and Saturday weekend tournament approaches, members of the club prepped the slopes by snowing the scaffold and rake grooming the hill.
Snowflake Ski Club member Scott Yttri said that preparations can take all day but that "It's just so fulfilling whenever we see that first skier come off."
The club estimates that around 3,500 people will attend the tournament and that button sales are going well as the event is somewhat of a "local Olympic event."Pre-sale buttons are $15 and can be purchased at various La Crosse area business; button prices will go up to $20 closer to the tournament.
