ProHealth Care offers COVID-19 vaccinations for children 5 to 11

Vaxxxx

ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital recently issued the following announcement.

ProHealth Care will begin vaccinating children ages 5 to 11 for COVID-19 on Thursday, Nov. 11.

COVID-19 vaccinations are provided by appointment only at ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Vaccination clinics specifically for children 5 to 11 will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

Children ages 5 to 11 are eligible for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. It is the first and only vaccine available for children, and they will receive a smaller dose than those 12 and older.

Two doses of vaccine, 21 days apart, are required for full protection.

Vaccinations can be scheduled by calling 262-928-5566. Schedulers are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ProHealth patients can also use ProHealth MyChart to schedule vaccinations online. Parents need to have a MyChart account and proxy access to the child’s record.

ProHealth Care also continues to provide shots for anyone 12 and over, Tuesday through Friday. Those who are not yet vaccinated are strongly encouraged to act now to protect themselves and those around them. Vaccination is highly recommended even for those who have had COVID-19 and recovered.

People who come to ProHealth Care’s vaccination clinic also will have an opportunity to receive an influenza vaccination at the same time.
