Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis metro lag behind Baltimore-Columbia-Towson in 2019

The Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis metro area exported $6.9 billion in 2019, less than exports from Baltimore-Columbia-Towson in 2019, according to the International Trade Administration.

A study from the Brookings Institute found competition between areas within the United States increases exports, which in turn generates stronger sales and more jobs for American workers.

The Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis metro area consists of four counties.

The Baltimore-Columbia-Towson metro area comprises seven counties exporting $7.1 billion in 2019.

The metro area with the most exports was Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land with $129.7 billion exported.
