28.5% unemployed in Waukesha in 2017

28.5 percent of Waukesha residents between 16 and 65 years old were unemployed in 2017, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The percentage of unemployed residents was less than the statewide total of 33.1 percent for this demographic group. In 2017 the total Waukesha population reached 58,329.

Out of 41,723 people who had a job, 26 were employed in the Armed Forces and 41,697 belonged to the civilian labor force.

The total unemployment numbers include residents of all ages who are not working.
