Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Wisconsin’s 5th district, has been active on social media sharing updates about his legislative efforts and collaborations with the administration. He replaced former U.S. Congress member Jim Sensenbrenner in 2021 and has a long history of public service, having served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1995 to 2021.

On May 20, 2025, Rep. Fitzgerald shared his enthusiasm following a meeting with President Biden and House GOP colleagues. In his tweet, he stated: “Great meeting with @POTUS and my @HouseGOP colleagues this morning.” He highlighted key components of a significant bill that aims to extend Trump-era tax cuts, reduce taxes for farmers, secure the border, and eliminate taxes on tips and overtime.

Later that day, Rep. Fitzgerald expressed support for President Biden’s administration’s focus on public safety through a tweet at 22:37 UTC: “I applaud @POTUS and his administration for making public safety a national priority.” He noted that a $360 million investment would aid fire departments in hiring, training, and retaining personnel necessary for community protection.

On May 21, 2025, Rep. Fitzgerald addressed an issue affecting residents of Greenfield who share zip codes with Milwaukee. In his tweet, he mentioned mail delivery problems leading to improper application of Milwaukee’s higher sales tax on Greenfield residents. He announced his co-sponsorship of H.R. 3095 to address these concerns: “I’m fighting to fix this problem.”

Scott Fitzgerald was born in Chicago in 1963 but now resides in Clyman. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
