Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, a U.S. Congressman from Wisconsin who has secured re-election victories in both 2020 and 2022, recently addressed issues affecting veterans and public safety in a series of posts on his social media account.
On October 6, 2025, Fitzgerald shared his participation in a local event, stating, “Great to join local veterans at the West Bend American Legion today. We discussed key issues facing Wisconsin veterans and made clear: despite the Democrats’ shutdown, VA Medical Centers, Outpatient Clinics, and Vet Centers remain open. VA benefits will continue to be processed”.
The following day, on October 7, 2025, Fitzgerald commented on recent federal actions in Chicago: “.@POTUS is sending the National Guard into Chicago because Democrat leaders failed to restore public safety. Instead of working with the Trump Administration, Mayor Johnson created “ICE-free zones” that undermine federal law enforcement. It’s time to restore the rule of law.”
On October 8, 2025, he posted a message praising border security efforts by a previous administration: “Incredible work by the Trump Administration. This is proof that secure borders are possible and that open borders were always a policy CHOICE.”
Fitzgerald has represented his district since winning the general election in 2020 against Tom Palzewicz with 60.1% of the vote and again in 2022 against Mike Van Someren with 64.4% of the vote.
