Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, U.S. Congressman representing Wisconsin’s 5th district, posted a series of statements on his official X account regarding recent legislative actions and concerns about government spending.

On July 17, 2025, Fitzgerald shared a link to his press release, writing: “Read my press release below https://t.co/MglkAXqgS1”.

The following day, he commented on the passage of key legislation in the House: “The House just passed the Senate Amendment to H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025 and H.R. 4016, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2026.

Wisconsin families are sick and tired of seeing their hard-earned tax dollars funneled to politically biased media here at home.” (July 18, 2025).

Shortly after that post, Fitzgerald again directed followers to a press release: “Read my press release below https://t.co/egzO4F9u2h” (July 18, 2025).

Scott Fitzgerald has served as the representative for Wisconsin’s 5th District since replacing Jim Sensenbrenner in 2021. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate from 1995 to 2021. Born in Chicago in 1963 and currently residing in Clyman, Fitzgerald holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.
